The Corinthian’s Love

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. – 1 Corinthians 13:4‭-‬7 NLT

Prayer of Reflection

Thank you Lord,
My life has not been easy and the more I reflect or look back on the past, in the tough times; it was you who brought me through. When I was hurt, despondent, lied to, disobedient, angry, downtrodden, abused, used and hanging in the balance of life; Jesus you were always there, to get me through. Though in those moments, I might have forgotten to thank you Savior; I want to say thank you now.

Jesus, for those moments of deliverance to come in the present and in the future, I want to extend my gratitude now Father. I pray you will always be there for me and help me never to be ungrateful, in Jesus name amen.

Pray, aim high and stay focused

There once was a man who had nothing for his family to eat. He had an old shotgun and three bullets. Therefore, he decided that he would go out and kill something for dinner.

As he went down the road, he saw a rabbit and he shot at the rabbit and missed it. Then he saw a squirrel, fired a shot at the squirrel, and missed it. As he went further, he saw a wild turkey in the tree and he had only one bullet, but a voice came to him and said, “Pray first, aim high and stay focused.”

However, at the same time, he saw deer which was a better kill. He brought the gun down and aimed at the deer. But, then he saw a rattle snake between his legs about to bite him, so he naturally brought the gun down further to shoot the rattle snake.

Still, the voice said again to him, “I said ‘pray, aim high and stay focused.” So, the man decided to listen to the voice. He prayed, then aimed the gun high up in the tree and shot the wild turkey. The bullet bounced off the turkey and killed the deer. The handle fell off the gun, hit the snake in the head, and killed it.

And, when the gun had gone off, it knocked him into a pond. When he stood to look around, he had fish in all his pockets, a dead deer and a turkey to eat. The snake (Satan) was dead simply because the man listened to God.

 ***Bottom line:

Pray first before you do anything, aim and shoot high in your goals, and stay focused on God. Pass this on in order that someone else might be blessed. Never let others discourage you concerning your past. The past is exactly that – “the past.” Live every day one day at a time. And remember that only God knows our future and that he will not put you through any more than you can bear. Do not look to man for your blessings but look to the Lord. He can open doors for you that only He is able to do. Doors that you will not slip through but doors that only He has prepared in advance for you in your favor.

Wait, and be still, patient: keep God first and everything else will follow.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name,
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven,
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory,
Now and forever, Amen.

Daily Prayer: A Prayer of thanks, protection of Coptics, and to our Leaders

Dear Lord,

I give thanks for the continued protection you have given my family while I am away from them. I give thanks Lord Jesus for you inspiring me to continue writing my book, even when I do want to procrastinate. I give thanks for the for my parents being able to come to Georgia for us to take care of them Thank you Lord.

Please forgive me for sins. I got angry for a misunderstanding, even though I promptly apologized, there was no reason to be angry.

Prayer for Friends and Family

kneeling to pray

Dear God, I am so concerned about some of my friends and family members who are living in sin. Even Christians can make wrong choices and fall into a life of sin.

I pray right now, that the Holy Spirit would move in a mighty way to convict them of their sin and their need to repent. I pray that you would give them strength and direction to step up out of that pit and return to you as their first love. Please, for their soul and sake and your glory, move in these special situations. And for those who do not know you, please bring people and circumstances into their lives that your power may be shown and their eyes may be opened. Save their souls and change their lives. May all glory and honor be unto You, My Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer to get to Know God

Oh God; I want to KNOW You.
You are so great and do great things. I want to spend more time with You. Help me to make time to sit before Your throne in quiet places, to read Your Word in order to know You more intimately, to develop an ear to hear Your voice so that I know when to turn to the right or to the left. I trust You to guide me in all things.
