Christian Meditation: Why Christians need to struggle?

It is said that if we were to help the butterfly remove itself from the cocoon, the butterfly would not be strong enough to survive. It is the struggle that prepares the butterfly to become strong enough to fly. Without the struggle in the cocoon, it could not survive as a butterfly. The Lord prepares … Continue reading Christian Meditation: Why Christians need to struggle?

Revealing the truth about Ephesians 6:13-18 by Denise N. Fyffe

The Whole Armor of God

In the next two blog post I will be talking about putting on “The whole Armor of God”. In this first post we go over the reference text Ephesians 6:13-18, List of each one and reference verses about each one. In the next post we go over each one in detail. I will be using the New Living Translation bible for scripture references.

Ephesians 6:13-18

13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armour so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armour of God’s righteousness.

15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.

16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.
17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

In this passage Paul tells us to put on seven things to help us as Christians to fight temptation and to become more mature believers. 1.) Belt of Truth 2.) Breastplate of Righteousness 3.) Battle Shoes 4.) Shield of Faith 5.) Helmet of Salvation 6.) Sword of the spirit “The Bible” 7.) Praying the Spirit at all times.

  •  Word of God (Sword of the spirit)– Isaiah 49:2, 2 Corinthians 6:7, Hebrews 4:12-13, Psalm 149:4-6
